Board Meeting Changes:

The Board has approved a new time for the Monthly Board Meetings.   The Meetings will begin at 6:30 pm.

The June and July Board Meetings will combined into one meeting on

Monday, July 9th at 6:30 PM.

Lee Waldron and Keith Perkins were elected to the Board at the Annual Owners Meeting on Monday, April 23rd.  Here is the Presidents Report from the Annual Meeting:

"We’ve had an excellent year this past year.  First and foremost, that is because of the people in the community.  We’ve had people volunteer for committees, help with events, and in general, been active in the community.  That activity is what makes the neighborhood beautiful, vibrant, and a fun place to live.  More pertinent to tonight, most of what has been done this past year would not have been possible without the volunteer hours from you and your neighbors.  The board is just 5 part time people.  We’ve probably had more than 50 people give of their time in some way, shape, or form this past year.  So, Thank You to all of you for what you’ve done for the community.

In looking back at the past year, there were 3 things that the board focused on other than the usual care and maintenance:

1.  Resolving the lingering issues from the developer 2.  Leaning on committees a little more 3.  Addressing Storm Water drainage

Thankfully, after many years of aggravation, the roads have finally been paved.  Yeah!!  They have not been turned over to VDOT yet so we are still monitoring the situation until that occurs.  We are also still working with the county, the bond company, and the developer on the remaining issues like the BMPs.

The ARC committee has been a strong committee for a while and I appreciate all of the behind the scenes work they do.  Last year, we reconstituted the Pool committee and immediately felt the value of their help.  For example, they suggested that we buy a water cannon to help control the pool’s water temperature during the summer and that made a huge difference in the quality of the pool.  Because of the success of the Pool committee, we also reconstituted the Social committee.  That committee hit the ground running with some great activities that were well attended.  Looking forward, they have already identified activities for the rest of the year.  Take a look at the Upcoming Events section of the community website for that full list.  Finally, many of us have felt the aggravation of having multiple sets of convenance in the neighborhood.  We just recently stood up a committee to recommend a single set of convenance for the whole neighborhood.  This won’t be an easy or quick thing but it is so needed.

Finally, there was a focus on Storm Water drainage.  We have repaired a number of issues with storm water drains this year and in the past few years.  To help with this we applied and won grants from the county to scope and repair our storm water drains.  In total, we received about $10,000 of grants.  This wouldn’t have been possible without the amazing work of Vinnie Balls and Gail Blecher.  The grants won’t cover all of our costs but will be very helpful.  We are already starting to talk about which items we should focus on for this year’s grants.

I’m looking forward to another beautiful year in the community."
